There are so many wonderful not-for-profit organisations working to make regional Australia a better place for everyone. From health-related organisations to sporting clubs. From agriculturally-focused to educational groups.

Many of these organisations are run by volunteers, using their spare time to enrich the lives of regional Australians in all parts of the country.

aussie hay runners


Aussie Hay Runners (AHR) was founded by Linda Widdup in December 2019 in response to the devastating effects of drought on Australian farmers.

Since then, the organisation has expanded its scope to support farmers facing additional hardships caused by floods, droughts, and bushfires.

Baw Baw L2p INC


The Baw Baw L2P Program matches LEARNER DRIVERS with VOLUNTEER MENTORS to help get them gain the minimum 120 hours driving experience required to obtain a probationary licence. Getting a drivers licence is an important milestone in a young person’s life. It opens up opportunities for employment, increased confidence, a sense of responsibility and independence.

BLAZEAID


Born from the ashes of Victoria’s devastating 2009 bushfires, BlazeAid is a grassroots volunteer organisation that helps rural communities recover after natural disasters. Founded by Kevin and Rhonda Butler after their own farm was burnt, BlazeAid has grown into a national movement, with almost 40,000 volunteers, of compassion and resilience.

Founded as an agency of the Uniting Church, our mission is to offer practical, pastoral, and emotional support - always with a spirit of kindness and connection, without discrimination or regard for religious belief.

The Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association of Australia (ICPA) is a voluntary, non-profit, apolitical organisation committed to ensuring that no child’s education is disadvantaged by geographic isolation. Established in 1971, ICPA was founded by parents in rural and remote areas facing significant barriers to educational access for their children.

Partners in Ag is an Australian not-for-profit organization dedicated to delivering high-quality professional learning to the agricultural sector, primarily across Victoria and Tasmania. Founded over 20 years ago, Partners in Ag was born from a legacy of agricultural education initiatives  - beginning with the Grains Industry Training Network, evolving through Women in Grains, and eventually the national Partners in Grain program.

REMOTE AUSTRALIANS MATTER


Remote Australians Matter (RAM) was formed in early 2023 to focus attention on remote Australia (including very remote) as a separate geographic entity to rural, and to address the lack of equitable access to Primary Health Care in remote. RAM is an independent, community driven organisation that empowers and encourages remote Australians to join and participate in the design and development of place-based solutions.

Wheatbelt & Beyond Youth Mentoring (WBYM) is a grassroots not-for-profit organisation dedicated to broadening the aspirations and opportunities of regional, rural, and remote (RRR) young people at district high schools across Western Australia. Founded in 2011 at Bruce Rock District High School and becoming an independent entity in 2019, WBYM has grown into a highly regarded, place-based program addressing the challenges of geographical and social isolation in small communities.
